Andrew Moor Associates - Feature Lighting
The Brief:
We were asked to supply edge illuminated Prismex panels lit with LEDs in component form. These were to be fitted to a new bar unit in the Mayfair Hotel, London, in order to back light an array of glass rods which were set along the entire front face of the bar.
We were asked to design a system that would back illuminate large glass decorative panels, approximately 2500mm x 1500mm each but that had to be very shallow in depth due to lack of recess space behind the panels.
The Solution:
The units were supplied in kit form - a system of 23 individual Prismex panels, complete with LEDs along the top edge, complete with wiring loom and central electronic driver. The result is an effective and subtle illuminated bar unit.
The solution was to build, supply and fit 18 Prismex panels complete with lamps and ballasts that fitted into 50mm recesses behind the glass. The finished panels not only illuminate the glass feature panels but also cast a considerable amount of light into the reception hallway.
